OUR PROGRAMS
1 Source Health & Wellbeing Inc. develops and supports programs that connect people with professional support, build practical skills, encourage inclusion and community participation, and create opportunities for people to contribute in meaningful ways.
Our current work brings together professional wellbeing support, disability inclusion, horticulture, nature-based activities and wildlife rehabilitation.
Each program has its own purpose, but they are connected by one broader goal:
Turning support into meaningful action.
Counselling Tasmania
Counselling Tasmania helps people find counselling and wellbeing professionals across Tasmania and online.
Rather than choosing a practitioner for someone, the platform gives people the information they need to explore their options, learn about different practitioners and make their own informed first connection.
Through Counselling Tasmania, people can:
Explore counsellors by location
Learn about individual practitioners
Read about qualifications, experience and approaches
Explore different areas of support
Access counselling and wellbeing articles
Contact practitioners directly
Counselling Tasmania also provides a professional network for counsellors and wellbeing practitioners.
Professional members can build their visibility through dedicated practitioner profiles, contribute educational articles and become part of a growing Tasmanian professional community.

Growing Hearts Disability Tasmania

What Participants May Be Involved In
Activities can include:

Preparing beds, planting vegetables, herbs and fruit.

Watering, propagation and caring for plants.

Weeding, pruning, garden maintenance and general horticulture skills.

Learning when and how produce is ready to collect.

Cleaning, sorting and preparing produce.

Where appropriate, produce may eventually be sold or used within community initiatives.
Growing Hearts is an inclusive horticulture, skills and community participation program being developed at Mt Rumney.
The aim is to create meaningful opportunities for people with disability to participate in practical outdoor activities, develop skills, build confidence and experience being part of a team.
The First Stage
The first Growing Hearts garden will cover approximately 416m² and is planned to include:
15 fruit trees
Around 300 vegetable and herb plants
Accessible raised garden beds
Wheelchair-accessible pathways and turning areas
Automatic irrigation
Protected growing areas
Potting and propagation areas
Gardening and accessible tools
Produce preparation and storage areas
The program is being designed so participants can become involved according to their individual interests, abilities and support needs.
WILDLIFE RESCUE & REHABILITATION
At Mt Rumney, 1 Source is also developing a small-scale wildlife rescue and rehabilitation initiative to support injured and orphaned Tasmanian native wildlife.
The focus is on providing individual animals with appropriate care, rehabilitation and, wherever possible, preparing them for return to the wild.
Starting Small — and Doing It Properly
The wildlife program is intentionally being developed at a manageable scale.
Initially, facilities are being planned to care for approximately five to six animals at one time.
Depending on permits, authorisations and individual care requirements, this may include animals such as:
Joeys
Pademelons
Ringtail possums
Other suitable Tasmanian wildlife
Wombats when the appropriate level of authorisation and facilities are in place

What the Program Is Being Developed To Include
The wildlife rehabilitation area will require:
MT RUMNEY — A PLACE WITH ROOM TO GROW
Growing Hearts and the wildlife rehabilitation program are being developed within dedicated program areas at a privately owned approximately 150-acre property at Mt Rumney, close to Hobart.
The property provides space for horticulture, wildlife rehabilitation, outdoor learning and future nature-based community initiatives.
Importantly, the programs will begin at a realistic scale.
Growing Hearts begins with approximately 416m².
The wildlife centre begins with capacity for only a small number of animals.
We believe sustainable programs are built by starting well, learning from experience and growing responsibly.
