ABOUT 1 SOURCE HEALTH & WELLBEING
1 Source Health & Wellbeing Inc is a Tasmanian registered charity bringing together professional wellbeing connections, inclusive community programs and practical opportunities designed to help people participate, contribute and thrive.
Our work continues to evolve, but the idea behind 1 Source remains simple:
People do better when they feel supported, connected and given meaningful opportunities.
Who We Are
1 Source Health & Wellbeing was created around the idea that support shouldn't exist in isolation.
People's lives are interconnected. Wellbeing can be influenced by relationships, community, purpose, opportunity, participation, environment and access to the right support at the right time.
That's why 1 Source brings different areas together.

We connect Tasmanians with counselling and wellbeing professionals through Counselling Tasmania.

We are developing inclusive community programs such as Growing Hearts Disability Tasmania, creating practical opportunities for people with disability to participate, learn and develop skills.

We are also expanding into nature and community-based initiatives, including wildlife rescue and rehabilitation at Mt Rumney.
While these programs may look very different, they share a common purpose:
Helping create opportunities for people and communities to thrive.

Tasmanian Registered Charity
Community • Wellbeing • Inclusion • Nature

1 Source Health & Wellbeing began with a focus on helping connect people with health, wellbeing, counselling and community support.
Over time, the organisation has evolved.
Through our work and community connections, we have seen that wellbeing often extends far beyond traditional support services.
People can benefit from opportunities to participate.
To learn.
To work alongside others.
To develop practical skills.
To connect with nature.
To feel useful.
And to know that their contribution matters.
That understanding is shaping the next chapter of 1 Source.
We are bringing the professional network and history of Counselling Tasmania into the broader 1 Source community while developing practical programs that create opportunities for participation, skills, connection and purpose.
Our organisation is growing, but we're not trying to become everything to everyone.
Instead, we are building programs where we believe we can create genuine, practical impact.
1 Source Health & Wellbeing is led by a volunteer committee bringing together business, community, governance and lived experience.
Our team shares a commitment to creating practical programs that support connection, inclusion, wellbeing and meaningful opportunities for people across our community.
Each person brings different experience and perspectives to 1 Source, helping us develop programs that are both compassionate and practical.

Growing Hearts Disability Tasmania is an inclusive horticulture and community participation program being developed at Mt Rumney.
The program will provide opportunities for people with disability to participate in activities such as:
• vegetable growing
• fruit-tree care
• propagation
• harvesting
• garden maintenance
• practical horticultural skills
• teamwork and community participation
Our longer-term goal is to create pathways towards skills development, work experience and, where sustainable, paid employment opportunities.
Growing Hearts is being designed for people with disability with different abilities, interests and support needs.
Participation will be considered individually so that activities can be appropriate, meaningful and safely supported.
More information about eligibility, participation and referrals will be available as the program opens.
The programs are being developed at Mt Rumney, near Hobart, within a privately owned approximately 150-acre property containing bushland and open areas.
1 Source uses designated areas of the property for its charitable programs.
The property itself is not owned by 1 Source Health & Wellbeing.
1 Source is developing a small wildlife rescue and rehabilitation initiative at Mt Rumney.
The initial facility is planned around caring for approximately 5–6 animals at one time, allowing a strong focus on individual care.
The program is intended to support appropriate Tasmanian native wildlife such as wallabies, pademelons, possums and other species within the organisation's permits, experience and authorisations.
Where rehabilitation is successful, the goal is to return wildlife to the wild whenever appropriate.
Wildlife undergoing rehabilitation is not a petting-zoo or public-display experience.
Any access to rehabilitating wildlife must be managed in accordance with animal welfare, permit, rehabilitation and safety requirements.
Where community or disability participants are involved in activities around the wildlife program, those activities will be carefully selected and appropriately supervised.
Where appropriate, we hope to create supported opportunities for people with disability to contribute to suitable activities around the program.
These could include preparing clean bedding, organising supplies, environmental projects, gardening, habitat work and other suitable activities.
Direct wildlife care or handling will only occur where it is appropriate, properly supervised and permitted.
