My name is Terry Howard. I am a CPA Accountant, Justice of The Peace and a great Husband and Father to two beautiful and successful children.

Mindful Money is all about enabling you to increase your financial fitness, in a mindful and practical way. Helping you to accelerate your way to achieving your goals and dreams.
The more you become aware of your mindset and emotional reaction towards money and why that reaction happens, the more you will be able to make more practical and grounded decisions around money. These more practical and grounded decisions will start moving you toward what you really want to achieve.
You know that whenever you start to increase your fitness or knowledge on anything, some old thoughts or emotions will pop up. You can expect exactly the same for money and financial fitness. These thoughts and emotions will often impact on your progress and, if they are negative, then they may well hold you back or even stop you from moving forward.
Putting aside the practical side of money for the moment and focusing on the mindset and emotional side, there are generally two areas of awareness on which you can start to build your knowledge on when it comes to your money fitness:
- Identifying your current language around money and the language you would like in the future
- Increasing your general understanding of money patterns and how they could impact you
The core Mindful Money program is approximately three 1 hour sessions which are held either in person, via Skype and/or over the phone.
Please take the time to make contact with me. I will supply you with a workbook, noting that you are not expected to complete all of it at once. You are welcome to be as brief or detail as you wish while keeping in mind the more prepared you are for your mentoring session the more value you will get out of the session.
Ideally, you will return the workbook to me prior to the session where possible as this helps me be well prepared for the session as well. Alternatively, email the workbook just prior to the session or bring it along to our session where we will make further notes during the session.
To continue getting you into the driver’s seat, it is important that you increase your awareness of your unconscious thoughts and reactions about money. These can turn into patterns. It truly is amazing that these thoughts can have such an impact on how successful you are (or are not).
We all have money patterns of some sort but most of us currently do not know anything about them. It can be a journey to work them out, so let’s consider this an introduction opportunity.
You know that when you increase your fitness or learn something new, you have some unconscious thoughts that pop into your head; sometimes they slow you down or even stop you altogether from achieving your goal.
When it comes to improving your financial fitness, exactly the same thing can happen. Your thoughts around money can dictate your actions and outcomes without you realising.
Sometimes these unconscious thoughts and reactions started when you were a kid, or you may have arrived at them through some sort of life experience. If these thoughts are repeated often enough your unconscious mind simply believes them and your actions duly provide the result that proves the unconscious thought is “correct”.
Having done the above exercise, you might already have some thoughts on your money patterns. Let me explain a little further. The number of examples for possible money patterns is literally endless, but the following are some of the most common unconscious thoughts we have around money.
